Civardi Furniture is FSC® and PEFCTM Chain of Custody (COC) certified.
What is COC certification?
COC certification ensures that when a project requires it, both we and in turn the builders contracting us, have the ability to trace the origins of forest based materials from responsibly managed sources.
COC certification provides an unbroken chain of custody of certified organisations in the supply chain of forest based products that have ownership of certified products.
We are committed to being responsible for chain of custody of FSC COC certified product and PEFC COC certified product through our production process.
As part of our FSC certification, we agree not to be directly or indirectly involved in the following unacceptable activities:
- illegal logging or the trade in illegal wood or forest products
- violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations
- destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations
- significant conversion of forests to plantations or non-forest use
- introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations
- violation of any of the ILO Core Conventions as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

What does this mean for green star projects?

So if you are a builder, developer or property owner undertaking a green star building project, then engaging a certified joiner to manufacture FSC COC certified joinery will allow you to accrue additional green star points for your project. Or if you are a property owner you may enjoy peace of mind knowing that the forest based products used in your FSC or PEFC COC certified joinery project can be traced back to responsibly managed sources.
